Is Cape Breton Gas ltd. selling fuel?

Not at this time, we work mostly with Superior Propane but will work with the supplier of your choice. We can maintain and repair installations whichever fuel provider is used at your location.

I bought a new gas range, does it need to be converted to use propane?

Yes, most appliances are setup for natural gas and must be converted to work with propane. Most cooking ranges are sold with the conversion kit but there are exceptions: Frigidaire will usually not include the LP kit with their ranges as do most dryers manufacturers. We can supply the conversion kit to allow your appliances to work with propane.

Is propane cleaner than oil?

That is a very complex question for which there is no easy answer. Propane is a byproduct of natural gas fracking and oil refining, most propane used in Canada is also produced in western Canada. It is a fossil fuel that must be used efficiently, the decision to switch from one fossil fuel to another must be taken in regards to the actual climate crisis.

Is propane a cheaper energy source?

Propane price, because it is a byproduct of crude oil refining and natural gas processing, will follow trends imposed by those other fossil fuels. As such, the price per liter can fluctuate more when compared to the electrical grid.
